Dear parents and carers
We hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Firstly we would like to say thank you for your cooperation on Monday with the nursery being closed due to the burst water pipe which caused upstairs to flood. This week preschool have been learning to write letters of their names by traces over letters with their finger and then writing the letter on paper. They have shown a great interest in play dough using a variety of different one- handed tools and equipment such as rollers, scissors, play dough cutters and shapes all helping to develop their fine motor skills and hand and eye coordination. This week our am star of the week is Noureen for settling into preschool and playing with others and our pm star of the week is Isla for using the toilet independently. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Just a reminder (and for the benefit of new parents) that everyone needs to fold their buggies if they are leaving them at the nursery. We are unable to accommodate all the buggies in the buggy shelter unless they are folded. If parents are unable to fold them then kindly could you take them home, please. Please also refrain from leaving buggies on the driveway during the sessions instead of in the shelter. We had an incident this week where a buggy was left, and it blew across the driveway and out of the rear gate almost hitting a parent and child who were leaving as well as vehicles parked in the residents car park. We hope you have a lovely weekend Jenny and preschool girls

Pre-School Christmas Performances and Party We are looking forward to everyone joining us for our Christmas performances and parties this year which take place on Friday 15th December. We are expecting a visit from Santa! The day will be very busy, and both the pre-school and toddlers will be using the upstairs movement for their allocated time. This means we will be moving children and parents around the building, so we need to organise the day, so it runs smoothly. We are detailing the arrangements below, so everyone is aware of what entrances they are using along with timings. Pre-School Morning Session – Starts 10.30 promptly and the gates will open at 10.25am Pre-school morning parents will enter through the main front door into reception. Once the children and staff are ready you will be invited to go upstairs to the toddler room movement space to watch the Christmas performance. When it is finished it would be appreciated if everyone can make their way down the main stairs to the pre-school for party food and a visit from Santa afterwards. Pre-school afternoon parents will enter through the main front door into reception. Once the children and staff are ready you will be invited to go upstairs to the toddler room movement space to watch the Christmas performance. When it is finished it would be appreciated if everyone can make their way down the main stairs to the pre-school for party food and a visit from Santa afterwards. Once the main crowds have cleared and performances are over moving around and entering and exiting the nursery will be easy. Please can we ask parents to bring in some finger food for children to share at the party. E.g. crisps, biscuits, cakes and savoury food/snacks. Please can we ask that no food contains peanuts, strawberries or kiwi as we have several children with severe allergies. We are aware that some parents have applied to start school nursery in January 2024. Please can you let us know ASAP if your child is allocated a place so we know what availability we have for January. Please kindly note that the nursery operates a 1 month notice period as we have been in the position where we have turned children down for a placement and then a child has started school, and we have been left with an empty place. Whilst this doesn’t stop children from taking up school places, funding won’t be transferred until after the notice period. We hope you all have a lovely weekend Jenny and preschool staff.
