Dear parents and carers,
Welcome back. We hope that you all enjoyed you half term break. This week the children have been exploring different textures, ie pasta, they were able to be creative making pictures using the pasta and practised their fine motor skills and hand and eye co ordination by using a range of different one handed tools to scoop from one pot to another. We had a range of different insects in the sand for the children to recognise and name helping to develop their language, ie to learn simple words. We extended this activity by talking about insects and where they live. The children enjoyed using the tongs to pick up the different coloured Pom poms and sort them into colours also encouraging them to learn and name the colours that they see. This weeks Am star ⭐️ of the week is Kaiden for using simple words during play. Pm star ⭐️ of the week is Ayaz for settling in well into nursery. Starting School April 2024? We are aware of a few children who are starting school after Easter, please can you let us know ASAP if your child is allocated a place so we know what places we have available for summer term. Enjoy your weekend, see you all next week. Dawn and The Toddler room girls.

Dear parents and carers
Welcome back, we hope you all had a lovely half term. Preschool have been learning this week about Life Cycle and what the process is in planting seeds and what they become. They pretend to use Pom poms as seeds and used their imagination to say what what will grow, e.g. a flower. The children have also been acting out different job roles and using activities such as a track track or cars to comment on their own experience of going on a train or a bus. They also pretended to be a veterinarian and a builder saying they were helping the animals or building their houses, helping to develop their understanding of the world we live in based on first hand experiences. This week our am star of the week is Ayaaz for settling into nursery and playing nicely, our pm star of the week is Mahdiya for being more confident in speaking to others. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Starting School April 2024? We hope you have all had a lovely week. The children have had a fun week carrying out lot’s of fun activities to do with various celebrations coming up during this half term week. They were developing their fine motor skills by stirring, rolling and scooping and measuring ingredients to make pancakes for pancake day and heart shaped biscuits for Valentine’s Day. They enjoyed making Valentine’s cards using a range of different materials, developing their creativity. We celebrated Chinese New Year with a fun activity of pretend noodles and coloured rice where they enjoyed the sensory experience of exploring different textures and developing their imagination and creativity. One of the childrens favourite books is we’re going on a bear hunt with visual aids. This week we read our story in English and Bengali which all of the children engaged in . Giving them all the opportunity to hear a story in a different language. This week’s Am Star ⭐️ of the week is Tameem for settling in well into nursery. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week is Arya for being friendly with everyone. Well done 👏. We have found a child’s black shoe in the buggy area . It is in the Toddler room . See photo. Lastly we hope you all enjoy your half term break and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday the 19th February. Dawn and Toddler room staff. Dear parents and carers
This week preschool have been busy making their Valentine’s Day card to take home. They used heart shaped cutters, their hand print or finger prints to decorate their cards, helping to taking about their emotions. Also, they made biscuits to take home. They weighted the ingredients out and mixed them together to make the dough. This all helps their development and learning around physical and understand different concepts. We hope you enjoyed the biscuits. This week our am star of the week is Aaira for being to participate in group activities and our pm star of the week Taufiq for being to follow nursery printings. We hope you all have a lovely half term Jenny and preschool girls. Dear parents and carers,
We hope you have had a good week. This week the children have enjoyed the role play area learning about different occupations ie: builder, where they enjoyed dressing up and exploring the different one handed tools that a builder would use developing their language and imagination. The children were exploring different sensorial textures on the tuff tray with lot’s of sea animals and a farm with farm animals for them to name and make different sounds. We enjoyed singing old Mac Donald had a farm and looking at books of animals. This week’s Am star ⭐️ of the week is Afrahim for settling in well into nursery. Our Pm star ⭐️ of the week is Callum for settling in and being helpful at tidy up time. Thank you to all the parents who are folding their buggies 😊 We are still having a few problems with 1 or 2 parents not putting theirs down and from next week if parents don’t fold them, they will be unable to leave them at the nursery. We are getting busier so its going to take some juggling to get them in. Please can we ask that people put their buggies on the left or right side so that there is a clear path for parents to get down the middle. Also if parents that arrive first put theirs towards the rear on the left-hand or right-hand side, then the shelter is easy to get in and out of as there is a clear path down the middle. Why not walk to nursery? Whilst we appreciate some families travel a distance and this isn’t possible, we would encourage others to as walking to the nursery is good for children. The children notice so much about the world around them when they go out for a walk. They notice the changing seasons, leaves falling off the trees in Autumn, and daffodils and bluebells appearing in Spring. And they all know walking is great exercise and keeps our bodies and minds healthy. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend or add another shelter as the council won’t give us planning permission so if we can all work together, we can store as many as possible and in the meantime, we will look at other options. We managed it at the end of this week 😊 We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we will see you all next week. Dawn and Toddler room girls. Dear parents and carers
