Dear parents and carers
We hope you have all had a lovely week. This week preschool have been learning about colours and categorising them building towers with a range of different constructional materials such as duplo blocks and mixing colours together to see what colours they make, helping to develop their awareness of colour changes. They have also been exploring different types of vehicles helping to develop their understanding of different concepts such as small and large. This week our am star of the week is Sufyan for settling into preschool and our pm star of the week is Lahiz for beginning to independently exploring the setting. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Thank you to all the parents who are folding their buggies 😊 We are still having a few problems with 1 or 2 parents not putting theirs down and from next week if parents don’t fold them, they will be unable to leave them at the nursery. We are getting busier so its going to take some juggling to get them in. Please can we ask that people put their buggies on the left or right side so that there is a clear path for parents to get down the middle. Also if parents that arrive first put theirs towards the rear on the left-hand or right-hand side, then the shelter is easy to get in and out of as there is a clear path down the middle. Why not walk to nursery? Whilst we appreciate some families travel a distance and this isn’t possible, we would encourage others to as walking to the nursery is good for children. The children notice so much about the world around them when they go out for a walk. They notice the changing seasons, leaves falling off the trees in Autumn, and daffodils and bluebells appearing in Spring. And they all know walking is great exercise and keeps our bodies and minds healthy. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend or add another shelter as the council won’t give us planning permission so if we can all work together, we can store as many as possible and in the meantime, we will look at other options. We managed it at the end of this week 😊 Next Friday 9th of February is our day last before we break up for half term. The nursery will be closed Monday 12th of February- Friday 16th of February and will reopen on Monday 19th of February Hope you all have a lovely weekend Jenny and preschool girls
