• From April 2024, working parents of two-year-olds will be able to access 15 hours of free childcare. 
• From September 2024, 15 hours of free childcare will be extended down to the age of nine months for working parents. (we are not registered for Under 2's) 
• From September 2025, working parents of children aged nine months and upwards will be entitled to 30 hours free childcare per week right up to their child starting school.

​The expanded entitlement is available to families where:

• both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family)
• each parent earns on average a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at the National Minimum wage or 16 hours at National Living Wage.
• neither parent has an income of more than £100,000 per year
• both parents are employed but one or both parents is temporarily away from the workplace on parental, maternity or paternity leave, adoption leave or get statutory sick pay
• one parent is employed, and one parent has substantial caring roles based on specific benefits received for caring, or is disabled/ incapacitated based on receipt of specific benefits

Parents eligible from April 2024 will be able to apply for their eligibility code from January 2024. Parents must receive their eligibility code before the 31 March to be able to access this entitlement.  You can check your eligibility here before applying to us. If your child is eligible, you can start claiming from the beginning of the term after they turn 2 and the nursery application once you have your code is here. Parents will be asked to reconfirm that they are still eligible for the support every 3 months. The date you can claim will depend on when their birthday is.

When you can start to claim

If your child's birthday is between the 1 January to 31 March you will be able to claim  the beginning of term on or after 1 April.

If your child's birthday is between 1 April to 31 August you will be able to claim the beginning of term on or after 1 September.

If your child's birthday is between 1 September to 31 December you will be able to claim the beginning of term on or after 1 January.
