This week our am star of the week is Anas for beginning to join in at circle time and our pm star of the week is Ibrahim for using the toilet independently. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Children In Need Thankyou everyone we raised £120 towards children in need this year 😊 Christmas Jumper Day Thursday 7th of December we will be celebrating Christmas jumper day. Children can come in wearing a Christmas jumper, make one at home or come to nursery wearing something green or red e.g. a T-shirt, shirt or plain jumper but don’t worry if you can’t. We have attached a few pictures of DIY Christmas jumpers that you could use with materials from home e.g. cotton pads with glue to create a snowman. Pre-School Christmas Performances and Party We are looking forward to everyone joining us for our Christmas performances and parties this year which take place on Friday 15th December. We are expecting a visit from Santa! The day will be very busy, and both the pre-school and toddlers will be using the upstairs movement for their allocated time. This means we will be moving children and parents around the building, so we need to organise the day, so it runs smoothly. We are detailing the arrangements below, so everyone is aware of what entrances they are using along with timings. Pre-School Morning Session – Starts 10.30 promptly and the gates will open at 10.25am Pre-school morning parents will enter through the main front door into reception. Once the children and staff are ready you will be invited to go upstairs to the toddler room movement space to watch the Christmas performance. When it is finished it would be appreciated if everyone can make their way down the main stairs to the pre-school for party food and a visit from Santa afterwards. Pre-school afternoon parents will enter through the main front door into reception. Once the children and staff are ready you will be invited to go upstairs to the toddler room movement space to watch the Christmas performance. When it is finished it would be appreciated if everyone can make their way down the main stairs to the pre-school for party food and a visit from Santa afterwards. Once the main crowds have cleared and performances are over moving around and entering and exiting the nursery will be easy. Please can we ask parents to bring in some finger food for children to share at the party. E.g. crisps, biscuits, cakes and savoury food/snacks. Please can we ask that no food contains peanuts, strawberries or kiwi as we have several children with severe allergies. We are aware that some parents have applied to start school nursery in January 2024. Please can you let us know ASAP if your child is allocated a place so we know what availability we have for January. Please kindly note that the nursery operates a 1 month notice period as we have been in the position where we have turned children down for a placement and then a child has started school, and we have been left with an empty place. Whilst this doesn’t stop children from taking up school places, funding won’t be transferred until after the notice period. We hope you all have a lovely weekend Jenny and preschool staff. I hope you have all had a good week. This week Toddlers have enjoyed mark making activities using an apple cut in half to make poppy prints. The children have also been gaining some knowledge and understanding of the world. We are growing our own Cress , the children have put in their cotton wool, sprinkled their seeds independently and water them each day. Now it’s time to watch them grow. Once grown the children can take them home and eat it , maybe in a salad or sandwich. It would be great if parents could send us pictures of what they did with their Cress. This weeks Am Star ⭐️ of the week goes to Taif for being more confident and playing with others. PM Star 🌟 of the week goes to Arya for gaining confidence to settle into Nursery. Well done 👏. Don’t forget Children in Need is next Friday. Children can come in dressed up in whatever they want to be. Ie: super hero’s, princesses. Have a lovely weekend. From a Dawn and Toddler room staff. |
