Dear parents/carers Welcome back after the Easter holidays we hope you all had a lovely half term. The toddlers this week have been making St George’s Flag for our display and Eid cards to the celebration happening either tomorrow or Saturday. This week our morning star of the week is Jesse for doing well in toilet training. Our afternoon star of the week is Nushiba for become confident in playing with others. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Nursery is closed tomorrow 21/4/2023 for Eid and will be open on Monday 24/4/2023 as normal. Next Friday 28/4/23 we are having our Eid party and you should have received an invitation, if not please don’t worry. Parents are welcome to join us and Morning children’s parent are welcome to come from 11:00am and our Afternoon parents are welcome from 3:00pm. If you can bring in some food or drink for the party it will be much appreciated. There is a little list of ideas that you can bring in. Eid Party Please can we ask that parents bring in an item of finger food for the children to share at the party. • Biscuits • Crisps • Small cakes • As its Eid it would be lovely to have some home cooked Asian food too 😊 Punctuality Please could we ask that children arrive in good time for the nursery session. We understand that there may be rare occasions when you are unavoidably late due to unforeseen circumstances and that many of you have excellent punctuality habits and bring your child to nursery on time every day but we still have a number of children who arrive late each day. This is happening a lot in the mornings, and we are suggesting that these families consider an afternoon place if the morning routine is difficult. It is essential that you ensure that your child arrives at nursery on time to prevent disruption to your child’s own learning and that of others. When children arrive late it takes staff away from activities, they were doing with other children so they can answer the door. Having to join the group when everybody else is settled can embarrass and worry many children. A regular five minutes a day adds up to a whole three days a year! Ten minutes late and the most important learning for the day is often lost, children are arriving after tasks have been introduced, and are starting the day at a disadvantage. Being frequently late for nursery adds up to lost learning: • Arriving 5 minutes late every day adds up to over 3 days lost each year. • Arriving 15 minutes late every day is the same as being absent for 2 weeks a year. • Arriving 30 minutes late every day is the same as being absent for 19 days a year Can I please kindly remind all parents/carers that if you are wanting to leave you pram in the buggy shelter you must fold your pram as we are getting busy now and can’t accommodate all the prams if they are not folded. Parent’s also find it difficult to access their pram when collecting due to the prams not being folded making it difficult for them. Eid Mubarak to everyone who will be celebrating this weekend. Hope you all have a lovely weekend Toddlers Girls
