Toddlers
The toddler room is located on the first floor and consists of a bright, spacious and well resourced play area. With adult support and carefully planned activities the toddlers along are able to move freely around the room and access a wide range of areas. . There is a rolling snack bar in place which encourages independence and healthy choices.
Children need to have a sense of belonging, a feeling of being welcome and of being important and therefore like all our other rooms a successful Key Person approach is in place.

Pre-School
Children in the pre-school room enjoy a wide range of rich learning opportunities that extend and develop their knowledge and understanding in all areas of learning. Our child centred approach enables us to build on children's existing skills and knowledge in an environment where their achievements are highly valued. We work in partnership with parents to provide children with first hand experiences in a stimulating, happy and secure environment; creating an atmosphere in which both children and parents feel welcome and at ease.

Outdoor Area
At Winterton House Nursery we value outdoor play as an intrinsic part of learning and development. By ensuring outdoor play is an integral part of the nursery routine we consciously seek to transmit a positive attitude to the outdoors and enrich children’s understanding of the world around them. We recognise that children are active learners and that brain and body develop together. Outdoor play offers unique opportunities that cannot be provided indoors.
We are fortunate to have use of a beautiful garden with lots of natural resources for children to explore and investigate. Outdoor play enables us to build on children’s natural motivation to be outside as well as promoting active healthy lifestyles.
