Dear Parents and Carers,
This week the children the children enjoyed listening to stories from our funny bones books, where they looked at the pictures and joined in with the rhymes . We had a fruit cutting activity in role play where the children developed their fine motor skills and hand eye co ordination learning to use a wooden knife to cut the fruit and vegetables. The children enjoyed identifying and naming the different fruit and vegetables , which prompted them to talk about the foods that they enjoy eating at home and snack time at nursery. Our airport and aeroplane activity in small world encouraged the children to develop their imagination and to talk about their own experiences ie. Have you been on an aeroplane? Where did you go? Which leads on to transport in general . Ie. How do you come to nursery? Do you walk? Get on a bus? A sensory activity with sea animals on the tuff tray to explore different textures and talk about what it feels like ? Can you name the sea animals. We had foam shapes on the white board for children to draw around developing fine motor skills and encouraging them to name them. The children enjoyed the coloured rice activity scooping the rice into the correct bowls using spoons and tweezers to develop fine motor skills and learn different colours. This morning the children did some baking. They weighed out the ingredients, taking turns to mix and spoon the cake mixture into the cake cases. All the children decorated their own cup cake using icing sugar and sprinkles. All ready to take home 👩🏻🍳😋 This week’s Am Star ⭐️ of the week is Lottie for being more confident during circle time.
