Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed your half term break. This week the children have enjoyed developing their imagination creating their own structures using wooden blocks, talking about different sizes. Ie. Big block, long block. They had fun connecting the small world train track encouraging them to play with others and develop their imaginative play skills. In the messy area we were exploring letters. The children were learning to identify and name them, they then traced around the letters using chalk on the blackboard. As it was Bonfire night this week the children made some beautiful fireworks pictures using a range of one-handed tools and toilet roll tubes. The children got creative doing junk modelling using a range of different materials and textures, exploring how they feel and different colours that they can see. We had a fun tuff tray activity with playdough. The children were squashing it using their hands, using a range of different tools such as rolling pins to roll it out, cutters to make shapes, all of which develop their hand-eye co- ordination and fine motor skills. We also had an activity with a range of different textures to explore. Ie pasta. Shaving foam. Bug’s galore in ice on the tuff tray went down well. They children felt the ice and talked about how the ice felt e.g. Cold, Wet. They then hit the ice using spoons to help the bugs escape. Next Friday is Children in need. Children are invited to dress up in their favourite outfit (superhero, princess, party dress etc), and if they wish they can make a donation to this worthwhile cause. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend. See you all next week. Dawn and Toddler room staff. 🤗

Dear Parents and Carers Welcome back to nursery, we hope you all had a lovely half-term. This week preschool has been looking at different shapes and incorporating this into activities. They have been using playdough cutters to create shapes, drawing around shapes and painting with different shapes. Helping them to identify and name simple shapes in a range of different play ideas. We also created firework paintings by using cutting up toilet roll tube which we will be displaying in our room. They also spoke about the fireworks that they see and displays that they went and watched. Preschool have been interest in a range of animals this week role playing by acting out their own experience going to the farm saying which animals they had seen, the noises they made and expressed how they feed the animals. This week our am star ⭐️ of the week is Jace for playing nicely with others. And our pm star ⭐️ of the week is Onessa for settling well into preschool. Well done to you both, keep up the good work. This Sunday is Remembrance Sunday where we hold a minutes since to remember the fallen soldiers. Remembrance Sunday is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life. Next Friday is Children in need. Children are invited to dress up in their favourite outfit (superhero, princess, party dress etc), and if they wish they can make a donation to this worthwhile cause. We hope you have a lovely weekend. Jenny and the preschool girls |
