Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you have had a good week. Our Toddler room children have had a really exciting week. They have been carrying out a wide range of activities to celebrate Halloween 🎃. The children loved our Halloween Tuff tray . We made different coloured hands with spiders in them and put them into the freezer. They used a range of different tools to break the ice to get the spiders 🕷 out and talked about how it felt. Ie. Cold. Then had fun squashing the spiders into the shaving foam and played hide and seek with the spiders and making marks with paint brushes in the shaving foam. We made a witches potion with eyeballs 👀 where the children were able to mix and stir and scoop them out, developing their imagination. The Toddlers made their own pumpkin which was on display outside of Toddler room. They scooped out the inside of the pumpkin and explored the inside, squeezing and squashing and talked about what they could see and feel. They painted it and draped it in cobwebs and little spiders. They were all very proud of the end result. We did baking on Thursday. We made Halloween themed cup cakes 🎂. The children helped weigh out the ingredients, mixed and scooped the cake mix into the cake cases, made the icing and decorated their own cakes to take home to eat. We had another sensory activity where the children were able to explore and feel the different textures of rice, pasta, spaghetti and shaving foam. In the sand tray they explored a range of different objects to find and name, developing their communication and language skills. In the water tray we had red water, eyeballs and sharks to create a Halloween theme. This weeks Am Star ⭐️ of the week is Maryam for doing excellent toilet training. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week is Sara for doing good tidying up. Well done 👏 to you both keep up the good work. On behalf of all the Toddler room staff we hope you all enjoy your half term holiday and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 4th November. Dawn and Toddler room staff.
