Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you have all been enjoying the lovely weather. This week the children have been enjoying the lovely weather in the garden, they especially enjoyed playing in the water. It kept them cool. We now have 4 beautiful butterflies 🦋. The children have really enjoyed learning about the life cycle of their caterpillar’s. Watching them emerge from the cocoon. Today we will be setting them free. Toddler’s have enjoyed the farm tuff tray where we made muddy puddles,the children played with the animals in the mud and then cleaned them,With a bowl of soapy water. We had blue water to represent the sea with sea creatures to talk about habitats. The children were exploring the different shape mould’s and drawing round them using chalk to encourage the children to recognise shapes. They explored the tuff tray of mini beasts with green slime and magnifying glasses, a lovely sensory activity. We mixed colour’s on the tuff tray using shaving foam , different coloured paint with paint brushes. This weeks ⭐️ of the week are Tania for beginning to settle in and Yameen for being gentle and kind. Well done 👏. We hope you continue to enjoy the beautiful weather, have a great weekend. Dear Parents and Carers, We hope you have all been enjoying the lovely weather. This week the children have been enjoying the lovely weather in the garden, they especially enjoyed playing in the water, keeping them cool. Our butterflies are still in their cocoons and hopefully next week we will have beautiful butterflies 🦋 which we will be able to release. The children have been talking a lot about their new schools they will be starting in September and we have been providing activities such as creating a school theme and reading and talking about meeting their new teachers and making new friends. With the lovely weather we have had this week we have created a beach theme for children to develop the imagination during play and talk about their past or upcoming holidays. Explaining what they did at the beach at what they see. We have been talking a lot this week about healthy and unhealthy food and the children did amazingly knowing what food is healthy and not healthy. Our am star of the week this week is Maryam Islam for begin completely toilet trained and Musa for using more words during his play and communicating with others. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Just a reminder that next week Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd of July, preschool have the parents meetings if you would like to sign up. We hope you are all well. This week we created a vet activity for children to share attention with an adult, learning how to look after animals. We read we’re going on a bear hunt book with the children and then created a fun activity on the tuff tray . We created an ocean theme tuff tray for children to explore and name sea animals. The children were exploring Number moulds in damp sand encouraging them to identify different letters. The children had fun exploring the sensory bottles and shiny fabrics, exploring different sounds and textures. Our caterpillars have just finished turning into Chrysalis . We will be able to put them into our nets on Monday. Where the children will be excited to watch the amazing transformation into beautiful butterflies within the next couple of weeks. This week’s Am star ⭐️ of the week is Wafa for being more confident in play . Our Pm star ⭐️ of the week is Jarif who is also gaining more confidence in his play. Well done 👏. This week we have been observing our caterpillars and they have all near crystallised. The children have been asking all week if they are butterflies yet and we have been explaining to them the process just like the hungry caterpillar book. We have done a lot activities with the children around using our imagination in their play this week, helping to develop many fundamental skills. We had a school theme for children going to school in September to understand transitioning and having new friends and teachers. We had a dinosaur swamp and we found a snail hiding in the leafs which the children were fascinated with. This week our am star of the week is a Nawful for participating well during small group activities and our pm star of the week is Sadiq for being helpful during tidy up times. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Next week the weather is meant improve with temperatures rising. Can we kindly ask parents to apply suncream before nursery and we will reapply if needed. If you haven’t already signed the consent form for a member of staff to apply suncream, you can next week. As the weather also warms up the children may get wet playing with water or having water fights to keep cool them off. We hope you have all had a lovely week. The children in preschool have be curious and fascinated with the development of the caterpillars asking everyday if they have become butterflies yet and saying how big they have grown. It will still take a few weeks for the week to become butterflies but we can’t wait to meet them. This week we have been making cards for father’s day on Sunday. The children used cotton buds and a mixture of different shades of purple and pink to create the bunch of grapes and they all looked fantastic. We have also been focusing on the children’s writing skills, helping to develop their fine motor skills and having control of E.g. a pen, pencils or felt tip. It was looking seeing the children make their own marks and express what they had drawn. This week our am star of the week is Yusra C for beginning to write her name and our pm star of the week is Zaya for beginning to become aware of toileting routines. Well done to you both, keep up the good work. This weekend we have two celebrations both on Sunday 16th of June 2024, father’s day and Eid. Who hope whoever is celebrating either one or both you have a fantastic day. Just a little reminder that on Monday 17th of June the nursery will closed and will be re-open on Tuesday 18th of June. We hope you have all had a good week. Toddler room have enjoyed a range of activities. We had a garden theme Tuff tray to encourage the children to talk about what they see around them. We had a toiletting activity to encourage self care and independence. The children cleaned the babies and changed their nappy. We had a farm theme activity to encourage the children to play with other’s and develop communication and language. The children made biscuits for Father’s Day and we’re mixing and counting and rolling developing their hand and eye co ordination and fine motor skills. We had a hand washing activity to develop health / self care. The children have been very excited to monitor our caterpillar’s growing and keep asking when are they going to turn into butterflies. This weeks Am Star ⭐️ of the week is Adam for being very helpful. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week is Zarie for doing well with toilet training. Well done 👏. We hope you have a great weekend. We hope you have had a good week. This week the children have been learning about different occupations. Ie . Builder’s. They were developing their imagination and play skills learning about the different tools used. We had a range of fun tuff tray activities. We had a beach activity where the children could explore the different textures and identify and name the different sea animals, developing their communication and language. We set up a safari activity, giving the children the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of different habitats. The children enjoyed the sensory activity, encouraging them to explore the ice cubes, identify colours and talk about what they see and feel. The children are learning about the life cycle of caterpillar ‘s 🐛 . They will be observing the caterpillar growing, making their cocoons and eventually turning into beautiful butterflies 🦋 which they will release into the world. This weeks Am star ⭐️ of the week is Jinan for being helpful during tidy up time. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week I Danylo for doing well in potty training. 👏. Well done. We hope you have all had a lovely week. Preschool this week have been concentrating on phonics making the sound for each letter and using objects that begin with the letter to match e.g. an apple for the letter A. The children have shown a great understanding of different phonetic sounds helping them when they go to school in September. We have been looking at numbers through a range of different activities all helping to develop their understanding and knowledge of counting in order by e.g. counting objects, recognising letters from numbers 1-5 and saying many of one object they have. This week we are glad to say that our caterpillars 🐛 arrived and we will be looking at how they change throughout the process until they become beautiful butterflies. This week our am star of the week is Zayan for playing alongside others nicely and our pm star of the week is Madeina for settling into preschool. Well done to you both, keep up the good work.
