Dear parents and carers
This week preschool have been exploring different occupations and acting out their own experiences during their play, helping to develop their imaginative play and talk about their own stories. They have also enjoyed playing in the garden, although the weather hasn’t been great this week. They have been building on their team skills by taking turns with the footballs and using the wooden blocks to balance on when walking, all helping to develop their gross motor skills and movements. This week our am star of the week is Rifat for joining in at circle time and our pm star of the week is Zakwaan for recognising letters of his name. Well done to you both keep up the good work Today we break up for half term and the nursery will be closed next week and will re-open on Monday the 3rd of June. Dear parents and carers,
This week Toddlers have been enjoying learning about different types of transport giving them the opportunity to talk about how they come to nursery. Ie. Bus, train, scooter, bike. We created a theme tuff tray about planets developing their language skills by talking about what they see and we read a book about planet’s and stars. We had a fun beach tuff tray where the children were able to explore different objects that we might see at the beach Ie. Sand ,the sea, rocks and sea animals and boats. We read a book about the beach , looking at pictures and talking about what they see. Today’s tuff tray activity was a garden theme where we had fun exploring and talking about what we can see and find in the garden. Ie. What colour flowers can you see? What does it smell like? How does it feel? This weeks Am star ⭐️ of the week is Huzaifa for developing his play skills and joining in at circle time. Pm star’s ⭐️ of the week are Zaheya for settling in well into nursery and Ameerah ⭐️for being more confident around the setting. Well done 👏. Just a reminder that next week is half term . I hope you have had a lovely week. The children have had a great week. They have enjoyed exploring a range of activities. We had a fun sensory activity where the children enjoyed exploring the texture of the shaving foam as well as learning colour’s and what happens when we mix the colour’s together, giving them the opportunity to talk about what they see and feel ,developing language and understanding. They had a range of different coloured paint to be creative with. They enjoyed naming the different colour’s . We had a tuff tray where the children learnt about weather change, gaining knowledge and understanding of the world. They loved being creative with the junk modelling giving them the opportunity to explore and use one handed tools, ie. Spatula, paint brush. We had a fun cutting fruit activity. The children enjoyed cutting apples and bananas independently helping to develop their hand - eye co-ordination and motor skills. We hid insects in the sand for the children to find and name, playing hide and seek. Encouraging them to use single words in play. This weeks Am Star ⭐️ of the week is Sajed for settling in well into nursery. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week is Arya for helping to tidy up and being polite. Well done 👏. We hope you have all had a wonderful week. Preschool this week have been learning to count in order from 1-5 using a range of activities such as number ducks and nets by counting how many they have caught and recognise the numbers on the ducks. They have also been exploring changes in material by mixing different ingredients together to see what forms. For example baking bakes and making playdough and commenting on what they see happen. This week our am star of the week is Evan for being more verbal in his play and our pm star of the week is Yasin for being confident during play and playing well with others. Well done to you both keep up the good work Next week we will be asking parents and carers for the their consent to apply additional suncream to their child throughout the session if needed, but remember to apply it before nursery as well as the weather warms up. Wow what a lovely week we have had with the weather. Next week we will be asking parents for consent to apply suncream to your child but we are encouraging you to apply it before attending nursery when the weather and we will reapply if needed. This week preschool have enjoyed exploring mini-beast in the garden etc beetles, snails and ants. Collecting them into a bowl and watching how they move, their colours and describing what they see. We have also been looking at colours and naming the different colours they have seen by e.g. painting flags from where we are from to go on display in our room, coloured rice and bowls and asking open-ended questions in their play, helping to build on their vocabulary and fine motor skills. This week our am star of the week is Yusra M for building friendships with others and our pm star of the week is Radia for settling into preschool and beginning to play with others. I hope you have enjoyed the beautiful weather this week. On warm and sunny day’s could I kindly request that children come in with a sun hat and apply sunscreen. Thankyou. The children have enjoyed a range of fun activities. We had a cutting spaghetti activity to help develop their fine motor skills which we coloured green to encourage the children to learn their colours. We had a safari activity which had a range of things for them to explore ie. Sand, hay, animals to identify and name, We had a beautiful bumble bee activity where the children can explore ice cubes encouraging them to talk about hot and cold. Explore the textures of leaves and learn about different habitats. We talked about what bees make ie . Honey 🍯 and how they make it, ie. By collecting pollen from the flowers. They enjoyed dressing up and reading books about superheroes developing their imagination and encouraging them to play together. The children enjoyed another ice activity with a range of objects ie . We hope you have all had a lovely week, despite the bad weather and it brightens up skin. Preschool have been looking at a range of different occupations this week and incorporating into many activities such as using builders blocks with mud, dressing up as different job roles and saying what they are and the job role of the occupations. They have been also been looking at the way things change e.g. solid to liquid and changing the colour of rice by adding painting. Our am star of the week is Kahar for independently writing his name and our pm star of the week is Hafsa for being more confident in her play. Well done to you both keep up the good work. Just a reminder that the nursery in closed on Monday 6th of May for the bank holiday and will be reopen on Tuesday 7th of May. Can I kindly ask parents and carers that if they have unwanted pots, pans, plastic utensils and trays that they no longer need or want could I kindly ask for them to be donated to the nursery for our our gardens mud kitchen. We hope you have all had a good week. This week the children have enjoyed a range of fun activities. We had a fun garden activity here the children were able to explore the kinds of things that we find in the garden ie: insects. We read a book about how things grow. The children scooped soil into plant pots and watered it using the watering can. We extended our activity by exploring our own nursery garden, talking about what we can see and hear. We had a fun tuff tray activity with Goldilocks and the 3 bears. We read the book together then the children enjoyed pretending to feed mummy bear, baby bear and daddy bear some porridge. The children were able to differentiate between big, medium and small bowls. We explored colour using drops of paint and washing up liquid and talked about what colours we could see. We had an ice activity where the children enjoyed exploring the sensory feeling of ice , how does it feel? Hot or cold, hard or soft.. The children had fun trying to break he ice to get the different objects out of the ice to name. We had an activity with babies and paint which we pretended were make up. They enjoyed making a mess and cleaning the babies when they were finished. This weeks Am Star ⭐️ of the week is Aaira for settling in well into nursery. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week is Clark also for Settling in well at Nursery. Well done 👏. We hope you all enjoy your Bank holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday.
