Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you have had a good week. The children in Toddler room have had an exciting week, being creative for up coming celebrations .Ie Ramadan and Eid.They have made a beautiful Mosque display with their Carers. The children helped to decorate it using paint ,glitter and gems, along with the stars and moons prompting the opportunity to talk about what they see and to develop Knowledge and understanding about different cultural celebrations. We had a Tuff tray as well . We had a baby tuff tray ,where the children were able to wash the babies using sponges and put nappies on, promoting their self care knowledge and understanding. In the garden the children were learning positioning language on the tuff tray. Ie. What way can the objects move,Teaching them over, under , across, up, down. They enjoyed playing in the mud kitchen using one handed tools such as spoons, scoops to develop fine motor skills and imagination. “ What are you making?” This weeks Am Star ⭐️ of the week is Maryam.S. For settling in well into nursery. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week is Danylo for settling in well into nursery. Well done to you both. 👏. Dear parents and carers
Preschool this week have been learning about colours and have incorporated this in to many different activities e.g. making their Mother’s Day cards using their hands to make an imprint and a paint brush to make the flowers, matching coloured objects, mixing paint answering questions in their play e.g. role playing with fruit. It was lovely to see so many off you dressed up for World Book Day yesterday you all looked amazing. This week our am star of the week is Zayan for being more vocal during play and our pm star of the week is Ayaana for communicating more with others. Well done to you both, keep up the good work. This weekend we have two special occasions coming up Ramadan and Mother’s Day. If you are celebrating we hope you all have a lovely time. This week Toddler room children had fun exploring the different Tuff tray activities giving them the opportunity to talk about what they see and feel, develop their communication and language and Imagination and enjoy listening to a story related to the Tuff Trays. We had a Tuff tray in the desert just in time for Ramadan, a builders tray , different occupations, Walking in the jungle / safari ie. What animals can you name? Insects in the garden, sea animals. All the children contributed in helping to make our moons and stars display for Ramadan. The children made salt dough love hearts for Mother’s Day, cut them out, let them dry then decorated them. This weeks Am Star ⭐️ of the week Amira for being more confident and being more verbal in her play. Our Pm Star ⭐️ of the week is Amir for using more words and being helpful. Preschool have enjoyed exploring the garden this week playing with a range of physical activities such as footballs, croquet and an obstacle course all helping to developing their gross motor movements and skills and learning to use equipment safely. They have been looking at different animals and naming them and saying where they have seen them e.g. the farm or the zoo. Next week Thursday 7th of March 2024 is World Book Day and children are welcome to come into nursery dressed up in their favourite character or bring a book in to share with us. If you do t have a costume we have plenty at nursery for the children to use and dress up. This week our am star of the week is Zaynab for always being friendly and kind towards her peers and our pm star of the week is Faiyaz for engaging and playing with others. This week the children have enjoyed some physical activities in the garden. They enjoyed an obstacle course, stepping stones, hoops and croquet. All of which help the children to develop their gross motor skills ie. How to balance, special awareness, moving and handling. The children had a teddy bears picnic, encouraging the children to develop their communication and language and imagination. We played what’s in the bag, which is where the children learn to take turns and choose an object from the bag to name. We had a pasta threading activity helping to develop their hand eye co ordination and fine motor skills. We set up a garden activity where the children could feel the soil and explore the seeds encouraging them to talk about how it feels and what they can see and different things that we can see in the garden. We also looked at books on mini beasts . This weeks Am Star of the week David for potty training and eating all his lunch. Pm Star of the week is Safwan for settling in well into nursery.
