Applications for a Nursery Place

Nursery Education for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
​

Winterton House Nursery provides sessional early years care and education for children aged between 2 and 5 years old during school term times. We are a fully inclusive nursery and it is our aim to make our provision genuinely accessible to children and families from all sections of our local community. We do not have a defined catchment area, all parents are eligible to register their child's name and all children will be considered fairly irrespective of gender, race or disability.

Early Learning for 2 year olds 

Some families will be entitled to access 15 hours a week of nursery education funding for 2 year olds. A brief description of the criteria is detailed below. Please note that the income eligibility criteria are set by the government, not by LBTH or Winterton House Nursery.   

Your child will be entitled to a place if you receive one of the following benefits:
  • Universal Credit - if you and your partner are on a low income from work (this usually means a combined income of less than £15,400 a year after tax)
  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • tax credits and you have an annual income of under £16,190 before tax
  • the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act
  • the Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
or
  • they are looked after by a local council
  • they have a current statement of special education needs (SEN) or an education health and care (EHC) plan
  • they get Disability Living Allowance
  • they have left care under a special guardianship order, child arrangements order or adoption order
If your child is eligible, you can start claiming from the beginning of the term after they turn 2. The date you can claim will depend on when their birthday is and is detailed below. Parents are welcome to fill in applications for places at anytime ad further information and forms etc are further down this page
 
Child’s birthday - When you can start to claim

1 January to 31 March  - the beginning of term on or after 1 April
1 April to 31 August -  the beginning of term on or after 1 September
1 September to 31 December -  the beginning of term on or after 1 January

Early Learning for 2 year olds applications 

To apply for a 2 year funded place parents have a few different options: 

1) Complete this downloadable form and return to the nursery by email or post or pop into the nursery for a paper copy. 

2) By calling the family information service to check your eligibility on 020 7364 6495. and then completing the this downloadable form and return it to the nursery by email or post. Paper copies are available at the nursery. 

Nursery Places for 3 and 4 year olds

All 3 and 4-year olds in England are entitled to 15 hours of free early education each week. Children become eligible for nursery education funding the term after their third birthday.
